Emma Dunstan (she/her) is a Japanese/Australian dance artist, based on Gadigal land.
She is mostly drawn to the storytelling, intuitiveness and expressiveness of contemporary dance and
how that is used to share/resonate with others. Emma also enjoys the presence of performance, to
bring life to ideas.
Emma graduated from Ev & Bow Full-time Dance Training Centre in 2023, followed by her
training at Dance Formation under the direction and mentorship of Georgette Sofatzis-Xuereb in
2024 & 2025.
She has been involved in Twisted Element Co.’s immersive performance exhibitions: Aura
Mechanica (2026) and RITUAL (2024).
Emma has recently returned from 5 months overseas, working closely with Ohad Naharin, Sofia
Nappi and Scottish Dance Theatre. She wishes to continue developing her artistic voice and self
through movement and creative practices, driving from a place of intuition.
Fun fact: I’ve never watched a single episode of Dance Academy, The Next Step or Dance Moms.
