Layla Meadows

Layla Meadows is an independent dancer/artist based in Eora (Sydney).  She trained with Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional program, during which she was awarded the Wallace Family Scholarship. Motivated by movement, exposing truth. Entering the extremes of the human body, by opening up as a vessel to explore different themes. She uses multidisciplinary forms to create art.

As a performer she has appeared in many works over the years, including, Omer Backley-Astrachans “Carla Zampatti exhibition” at the PowerHouse Museum (2022) and Melanie Lane in “Ivy” at Carriageworks.

She has choreographed many works, most recently, ‘Nymphemeral’ (2025), alongside performance artist Jess Fitzpatrick and musician Oscar Jones-Romeo, combining art/performance/music and dance in situ. Exploring cicadas as a manifestation of the cycles of life. This was performed at Riverside theatre for ‘DUELS’ and at Dancehouse for Lucy Guerin Inc, ‘Out of Bounds’.

Her work emphasises collaborative creation, bleeding different art forms, how we can continue to morph to create a world together.
