In January this year, Mairi performed with Future Makers alongside Dance Makers Collective for Sydney Festival in the collaborative work led by Miranda Wheen, All In.

Previously, Mairi performed Stephanie Lake’s Colossus at the Newcastle Theatre and Dancing Bonachela at Sydney Dance Company’s Wharf Theatre while involved with Sydney Dance Company’s PPY. Mairi took part in the creation process of We have been here before but never like this by James O’Hara, arrival in s.a.r.s.h by Sam Coren and Tout ce [-‘sa] by Cloé Fournier, and performed these works at Carriageworks.

Prior to this, Mairi danced in London taking part in the creation and nationally touring the UK with Julie Cunningham’s Body Parts performed at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden with Rambert School, and performed in a restaging of Kenneth MacMillan’s Playground with Yorke Dance Project.

Mairi holds a BA(Hons) from Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, where she studied extensively in contemporary techniques. She performed both as a soloist and in an ensemble in works by choreographers Ross McKim, Nicole Guarino, and Rafael Bonachela restaged by Paul Liburd. At Rambert, Mairi choreographed two solo works Remember Me When and forget me first both performed at Linden Theatre.

Currently, Mairi is developing a new work to engage communities in dance and make the studio a welcoming and accessible place for all. Mairi is exploring how stories are told on stage in a non-linear format and continues to develop her practice of inclusion in dance spaces through adaptable and dynamic movement.
