Sydney Festival World Premiere
Parramatta Town Hall
22 – 25 January 2025
Dance exists on stages, at weddings, in clubs and at cultural gatherings. Why is it so universal? What are the boundaries between ballet and backyard parties? Can dance build bridges and ignite collective joy?
Award-winning contemporary dance company Dance Makers Collective (The Rivoli, Sydney Festival 2020) tackles these questions with artists from a cross-section of styles and communities, celebrating movement as a unifying force. Led by Miranda Wheen (Dance Makers Collective’s Co-Artistic Director and Associate Artist at Marrugeku), All In features contributions from some of Western Sydney’s finest creatives across flamenco, hip-hop, Bharatanatyam and Dharug dance – including Pepa Molina, Azzam Mohamed, Vishnu Arunasalam and Peta Strachan.
Step inside the beautifully refurbished Parramatta Town Hall and connect with dance in a variety of ways: enjoy a seat for first-class choreography, accept a gentle invitation to join in, or hit the dance floor with your own style.
All In is ultimately a celebration — a gathering in an increasingly divided world.
Go all in with DMC and help to bring this ambitious new work to the stage at Sydney Festival 2025. With 40+ artists and creatives involved, it’s our biggest yet! Your gift of any size will have a huge impact.
WHAT OUR TARGET IS FOR
This coming January, DMC is presenting its largest-scale performance project ever All In, which engages an incredibly diverse and exciting creative team of more than 40 individual artists and creatives. The scale and impact of this work falls well outside of DMC’s capacity to fund it, yet we are steadfast in continuing this work with the momentum we have built and the exciting opportunity to present the work in Sydney Festival.
$15,000 is half of what is needed for us to pay performance fees to all the emerging artists in the premiere season. By supporting this project, you are helping to provide professional development and performance opportunities for the next generation of dance artists.
Your donation is tax-deductible, it would mean the world to us if you’d help us at this critical moment – donate below:
