Anastasia Lonsdale

Anastasia Lonsdale is a Sydney-based artist committed to pushing the boundaries of physicality and embodiment in Australia’s contemporary dance landscape. She began training in Brisbane at Premier Dance Academy and Mill Street Studios, before pursuing contemporary dance at The McDonald College, joining the stream affiliated with Sydney Dance Company. She later advanced her studies at the Victorian College of the Arts, where she received a placement with NT Dance Company under Garry Lang. There, she explored cultural and traditional forms through Miku Performing Arts, culminating in the 2022 production of Wanja. In 2024, Anastasia expanded her practice with a secondment at Australian Dance Theatre, workshops such as Sandpit, and ongoing training at Mad Dance House and Sydney Dance Company. In 2025, she aims to deepen her roots in Sydney’s contemporary dance scene through new collaborations and the development of original work.
