Jaslyn Boughton

Jaslyn (she/they) currently lives and works on Gadigal country.
Jaslyn trained in Sydney before moving to Boorloo/Perth in 2018 to study at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). Here, she was taught by many industry professionals such as Sue Peacock, Justin Rutzou and Michael Whaites. In their final year they were apart of ‘A Moving Portrait’, a work choreographed by the artistic director of Co3, Raewyn Hill.

In February of 2021, Jaslyn graduated from WAAPA with a Bachelor of Arts (Dance).
They then moved back to Sydney in 2021 and taught at many dance studios around Sydney, including making works for schools for Sydney North and State festivals.

Jaslyn became a Future Maker in 2023 to step back into developing her own dance practice and to generate a work. Jaslyn is advocating for a space to have conversations about queerness, femininity and beauty. She explores these themes through dance while relating messages from personalised experiences for a more authentic, raw and relatable work of art.
