Ashleigh (She/Her) is an independent dance maker and artist based in Eora/Sydney. Ashleigh is continuously working within her own curiosities and interests to see how she can create new found perspectives within dance. With a drawn interest to working with choreographic form and temporal speeds. Ashleigh trained at Ev & bow (2017) and The Victorian College of the Arts (2020) attaining a BFA in Dance.
Currently, Ashleigh is a dancer with Dance Maker’s Collective’s “Future Makers” since joining the program she has worked and perform in works by Kristina Chan, Jasmin Lee Sheppard, Patricia Wood, Rhiannon Newton and Eliza Cooper. Ashleigh has also performed in works by Simone Forti (2019) and has been a dancer for Chloé [F] Projects (2021).
Ashleigh is the co-facilitator of the emerging artist group “The Young Folk” which is supported by ReadyMade Works. Ashleigh has had choreographic residencies with ‘March Dance Festival’ and ReadyMade Works to further develop her own choreographies. In 2023, she presented her own work ‘ReRun (Working Title)’ in Dance Maker’s Collective “Big Dance 2.0” season.
